August Class Schedule

Customer Appreciation – Thursday, August 9th
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

This is a free class for any customer that has placed an order this year.  I'm back from convention and can't wait to see everyone!  I also have a new dining room table that I can't wait for us to stamp on!  The theme for this class will be Convention Make and Takes.
Please RSVP by Monday, August 6th.

Favorite Convention Swaps – Thursday, August 16th
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Cost - $10

A big part of convention is swapping with other demonstrators.  At this class, we will be making three of my favorite swaps.
Please RSVP by Friday, August 10th.

Easy Events  - Thursday, August 30th
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

I am offering this class as a product class.  That means you have some options when paying for the class.  If you would like to just come and make the cards, the cost is $10.  If you would like to purchase the stamp set, the class is free! (I did round up to make payment a little easier.)  The cost (including tax and shipping) for the clear set is $30 and the cost for the wood set is $39.

The three cards made at this class will all feature stamps from the Easy Events stamp set.  I just love this set; it is so versatile!

If you would like the stamp set, please RSVP and pay by Thursday, August 16th so I can order the stamps and have them for you the night of the class.  If you do not want the stamp set, please RSVP by Friday, August 24th.

Convention 2012 Lip Dub!

This video is how the 2012 Stampin' Up! Convention began.  The theme for our convention was I Am....  Many Stampin' Up! workers are in the video.  I have to say, I don't think there is another company that has such nice, friendly, and enthusiastic workers as Stampin' Up!

Convention...I will have more later!

Who would have thought I would have so much trouble with Internet access!  I was so busy during convention (and so tired since we started with only a few hours sleep due to our flight delay) I didn't have a chance to post anything.  Now that I'm on the second part of my vacation, I have time but no Internet!!!

Convention was very inspiring and I can't wait to share what I saw, did, and learned.  Here are just a few pictures. I will add more pictures and details at my next stop.

These are my swaps.  Sorry for the background.  It is my bed at the hotel.

This is a picture of the demonstrators lined up waiting to enter Momento Mall.  It's where we go shopping!

This is a picture of main stage.  I was sitting very far back.  You really can't see the stage.  It is a picture of the screens.  I will add a better picture when I find one!

These are three of the demonstrators I was with.  We had A LOT of laughs.

Ok...so as I was uploading my photos and I realized I'm going to use up all of my data plan because I am using the connection from my phone to access my blog.  Right now we are staying in a cabin near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon with very little amenities.  I am going to continue adding comments and will add images when I get to the next hotel.  Hopefully, I will have Internet access!

Waiting to Depart for Convention

Notice there isn't a plane at the gate!

Ok...so we are sitting at Newark Airport.  We have been here since 3:00 p.m.  We decided to get here early and have a nice leisurely dinner.  Well...we are still waiting.  Our flight was originally scheduled to depart at 5:29 p.m. and was first changed to 6:00 p.m....then to 7:00 p.m....then to 8:00 p.m.  Now...it has changed to a 8:32 p.m. departure.  If anyone is reading this post tonight...please pray that our plane is able to depart!  It was diverted to Washington D.C. due to storms.

The plane has finally arrived at the airport! We are supposed to depart around 9:30.

Flower Pot Card

This is one of the cards we did at a workshop tonight.  I promised the ladies that I would post a picture of cutting out the pot.

First cut an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of card stock on the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4".  Then score at 5 1/2" and fold.  Put the end that is not folded at the top of the paper cutter and line it up at 3/8".  Line up the folded side at 1" to the right side of the blade and cut.

Turn the paper over and cut the other side.

Score one end at 1 1/4" and fold over.  It is hard to see, but I used the scallop edge punch on the scored edge of the flower pot.  I also sponged crumb cake around the pot.

We used the stamp set, Mixed Bunch and the new Blossom punch to create the flower and the leaves.  The colors used were Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, So Saffron and Always Artichoke.

A Simple Butterfly Card

This is the the other card we made at tonight's workshop.  It was a very simple card featuring the new stamp set Papillon Potpourri and the new butterfly punch.  The butterfly was stamped with black Stazon ink and water colored with Baja Breeze and Midnight Muse.

This is the original card, but I mixed up the dimensions when I cut out the card stock.

A Gift for my Hostess

This is the hostess gift from tonight's workshop.  It was a box created using the Scalloped Envelope die and the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  The box contained four note cards.

The technique that was used on the flower was a modified version of rockin' and rolling.  Instead of rocking the stamp on the second color, I daubed it on.  The stamp was first stamped on Daffodil Delight.  I then used a dauber and sponged on Tangerine Tango around the edges of the flower.

A Reason to Smile

During the month of July customers can purchase a special stamp set called A Reason to Smile for only $5 with a $50 order.  Above is a sample of a card I made using the stamp set, and below are the stamps in the set.  Isn't it cute!

All orders must be placed before the end of the month.  If you would like to place an online order, the item number for the clear set is 131275, and the item number for the wood set is 131274.  You will not be prompted to add the item - you must add it after ordering $50 of merchandise.  Just put in the item number for the set you want.

Two Cards from a Recent Class

I didn't realize that I forgot to post these cards.  I will add details for these and the masculine cards while I am on vacation.  (I will have a lot of time while we are traveling!)
